Meet Your Directors!
Melissa Zubrickas BBA, BScN Candidate
My name is Melissa Zubrickas and I am in my second year of compressed nursing. This is my sixth year of university and my fifth year at Trent! I have completed a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and eventually want to combine my two degrees together and work in health administration. This is my first year of involvement with the CNSA but I have attended a number of conferences over my five years of university.
I am passionate about LGBT rights and Shane Bitney Crone is a hero of mine for his work regarding marriage equality in the United States and worldwide. His film Bridegroom is a film that should be watched by all regardless of one's sexual orientation. In my free time I play guitar and train for triathlons. Sport is my way of relieving stress! I love to travel and have lived in Canada (Ontario and Nova Scotia), New Zealand and Australia. I have friends from all over the world and even though I don't see them often I wouldn't have it any other way.
I hope that everyone enjoys this years conference. Meaghan and I have put in countless hours of work to make this event amazing for everyone. We hope that you have the opportunity to network and learn more about the amazing field of nursing! I am so excited to welcome everyone to my beautiful home town of Peterborough. Thank you for supporting our conference I look forward to meeting everyone! Check out my LinkedIn profile for more professional information.

Meaghan Gutenberg, BScN Candidate
My name is Meaghan Gutenberg and I am in my third year of the 4-year collaborative BScN program at the Trent-Fleming School of Nursing. I have been involved with the CNSA since my first year where I started off as an associate delegate from 2012-2013, and official delegate from 2013-2014. I was privileged with attending regional conferences hosted by Ryerson University and Sault College, as well as national conferences hosted by Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Langara College in Vancouver, British Columbia. Throughout the years, the CNSA has shaped and developed the professional I am, has diversified my vision of the nursing profession, and has inspired me to become a better leader.
This year I am so happy and proud to be co-directing the 2014 CNSA Ontario regional conference alongside Melissa which is coming to Trent University for the first time! I am proud of the school I go to, proud of the city I live in, and proud to be entering one of the hardest but most rewarding professions there is! For these reasons and more, I am so excited to be welcoming nursing students and health care professionals from across the province to Peterborough for this amazing event! I'm truly looking forward to meeting all of you and I hope that this conference makes as positive of an impact on you as attending them over the years has had on me. |
